Men and women who gave their lives in the name of freedom were honored Monday during a solemn Memorial Day ceremony at Historic Union Cemetery.

Along with a keynote speech from Col. Ahave E. Brown Jr., commander of the 412th Maintenance Group at Edwards Air Force Base, those who gathered observed a presentation of Colors by the Arvin High JROTC, a special presentation by the Sons of the American Revolution, and the singing of the national anthem, taps and performances by the West High School Viking Band.
